Intensive English Courses
At the Irish College of English, we offer Intensive English Courses all year round in our Malahide & Swords based Language Schools in Dublin, Ireland. Our English Language Colleges are recognised by the Department of Education and Science for the teaching of English as a Foreign Language. Students can register for courses for 1 week to 1 year. Some of these courses are suitable for students requiring study visas to enter Ireland. The Irish College of English can assist students with study visa applications and will issue a letter of acceptance upon registration. Courses Approved for students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland:
The following programmes are included on the Department of Education and Science’s Internationalisation register of programmes approved by the Minister for Education and Science for the purpose of access to employment by students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland:
- 1 year full time courses ( min. 15 hours per week) focusing on preparation for the IELTS Exam
Course Focus & Levels:
The main focus of these intensive courses is on rapid learning for communication in spoken and written English. Our highly qualified English tutors set students clear learning objectives and use the latest modern teaching techniques to provide language practice in speaking, writing, listening and reading, to altogether improve English pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary.These English language classes also include an Irish Culture lesson component, which covers Irish language, traditional music, history and culture. These special English lessons will provide those students learning English in Ireland with a better knowledge of the local people and culture, enabling them to become more actively involved with the unique Irish way of life.Courses are available for all levels of adult and student learners from basic Elementary to Advanced & Proficiency classes.
Start Dates/Timetable:
Weekday afternoons or evenings with a choice of either 15 - 25 hours of general English classes respectively. The course runs throughout the year and students can join on any Monday of any week. Minimum 1 week attendance, or any number of weeks, or 1 year.

Malahide Branch – Full Time Courses (Afternoons 1.00pm – 4.00pm)
Or Swords Branch – Full Time Courses (Mornings 9.30pm -12.30pm) - 20 hours a week: Monday - Friday, Mornings/Afternoons + 2 Evening Classes
Malahide Branch – Full Time Courses (Afternoons 1.00pm – 4.00pm)
Or Swords Branch – Full Time Courses (Mornings 9.30pm -12.30pm) - 25 hours a week: Monday - Friday, Mornings/Afternoons + 4 Evening Classes
Malahide Branch – Full Time Courses (Afternoons 1.00pm – 4.00pm)
Or Swords Branch – Full Time Courses (Mornings 9.30pm -12.30pm) - 25 weeks to 1 year full time - We help arrange student visas for this full time course.

The Irish College of English offers Customer Service English and Business English courses in Dublin for companies and their foreign staff, with courses designed to meet the needs of individual companies based in Ireland.
