Procedures

1. Reporting: Any incidents of unacceptable behaviour should be promptly reported to the designated authority, typically the Academic Manager or Centre Manager or Welfare Officer.
2. Investigation: Reported incidents will be thoroughly investigated to gather relevant information and determine the appropriate course of action.
3. Disciplinary Action: Depending on the severity of the offense, disciplinary actions may include verbal warnings, written warnings, probation, suspension, or expulsion from the institution.
4. Expulsion Consideration: Expulsion may be considered for serious or repeated violations of the Disciplinary Policy, behaviour posing significant risks, or criminal infractions. The decision will be made by the institution’s management team.
5. Appeals Process: Students have the right to appeal disciplinary actions or expulsion decisions. Appeals should be submitted in writing to the Managing Director within a specified timeframe, along with supporting documentation.

Additional ILEP Course Information on Absenteeism and Expulsion

Attendance Warning System:

In cases of frequent or prolonged absenteeism or if a student’s attendance rate drops below 70%, the student will receive:

• An initial attendance warning email reminding them of their attendance requirements.
• If after 4 weeks, the attendance rate has not improved, a second warning email will be sent.
• After an additional 4 weeks, a third and final attendance warning will be issued.
• Failure to improve attendance to an acceptable level after the third and final attendance warning will result in expulsion from the ILEP programme.

Expulsion Consequences:

The INIS (Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service) will be notified of the student’s expulsion from the ILEP programme, the student will not receive an end of course certificate and no refunds will be issued.

Additional Junior Camp Information on Expulsion

If a student is expelled from one of our summer camps, we will keep them under our care for 24 hours in order to allow parents to make the necessary flight arrangements for them to return home and we will also facilitate transfers etc. All costs should be borne by the parents or guardians. If a student is to return home, once a flight is arranged we will escort the student to the airport and see them through check-in and to visa control, having gained confirmation that the student will be met on arrival. Should a parent refuse to arrange to facilitate the student leaving the camp, the relevant embassy will be informed of the situation.
