Class are international and limited to 12 students per group. All aspects of language learning are covered with a focus on fluency and building confidence in using the language.
Our Irish Teenagers lead sessions with our International teenagers to build fluency in a meaningful relevant way. This is a great way for students to use their English language to communicate with native speakers of a similar age.
At the end of the camp, each student will receive a certificate of attainment and feedback from their teacher on how to progress their fluency. This will include individualised worksheets and resource links so they can revise and reinforce the key areas they need to focus on.
Students dedicated ‘Irish Mum’ will call them three times a week for a chat about how their day is going giving students, the chance to speak to another Native Speaker in a different context. Times are flexible and we will arrange a suitable time with you.
The key difference with our courses and other online courses is that we offer a professional authentic experience. To achieve this, all our all teaching team are native speakers, live in Ireland and are regular staff members at for the Irish College of English. Our experienced teachers have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and ELT teaching qualification such as J-ELT/CELT/CELTA. We guarantee our teachers will deliver dynamic and innovative lessons to encourage younger learners.
Similar to our Junior Camps here in Ireland, we believe students should start the day with a structured class environment with specific learning outcomes. Our Online Group Learning is based on our Junior Syllabus which we use at our Junior Camps. This course is carefully designed for teenage students and we cover levels from A1 to C1. The classes are a great way to encourage your children to start using their English for fun, natural communication and to meet new friends.
As a special extra all our students will have an ‘Irish Mum’ for the week. Their Irish Mum will call them 3 days a week for a chat about their day and give them the opportunity to interact on a one to one basis with another native speaker in a different context, all the time improving their confidence and fluency.
It’s easy to join our classes or teen sessions. We use Zoom so students don’t even need a zoom account, we will send a password and students can log in to the class each day. The system is simple and effective and is great for teenage students.. Students can see each other and the teacher and everyone can interact in a natural way. For your call from your ‘Irish Mum’ we use Skype.
We take child protection seriously and ensure all our adult staff are police checked. However, we ask all parents to supervise their children while taking part in our Virtual Camps and talk to your children about safety online.
Our Cultural Engagement session gives our students the opportunity to interact and practise English with other teens from around the world. The session will be based on Irish Cultural topics. This is a great opportunity for our students to spend time with other students and build friendships while practising English.
